ABOUT THE LOCATION AND FACILITES
The School is in Sparks, Maryland, 10 minutes north of Baltimore City. It is extremely simple to get to, being conveniently located just 10 minutes north of the Baltimore Beltway (Rt 695). It is just 4/10ths of a mile off of Interstate I-83, on a private drive in beautiful North Central Baltimore County, MD. Surrounding neighborhoods include Sparks, Hunt Valley, Parkton, Jarrettsville, Butler, Jacksonville, Monkton, Timonium, Towson, Greenspring Valley, etc. Some students will travel long distances to take advantage of this unique educational opportunity. It is in a safe neighborhood with convenient, free parking. You will discover the perfect creative atmosphere in this easy to find, newly remodeled and specially lit and decorated Classroom/Art Studio &Gallery on three scenic acres in beautiful Sparks, Maryland. The studio houses an art gallery, a well-rounded art book collection and a large collection of reference photos for students’ use.


DIRECTIONS
FROM BALTIMORE (THE SOUTH): from Balto. Beltway Exit #24. take Exit 24 North, York Harrisburg Expressway Interstate 83 , Go north for about 10 miles/10mins, passing the Shawan Rd (Hunt Valley) exit. Forn I-83, take exit #24, Belfast Rd. Exit. Go left off ramp onto Belfast Rd. Go for 4/10ths of a mile. (You should go under the bridges of I-83.) Road will curve to the left. Very shortly, take your first left onto Old Belfast Rd. (see *CONTINUATION below)

FROM THE NORTH: Take I-83 past the Mt. Carmel Exit and turn off at Belfast Rd., Exit #24. Go right off ramp and continue for the distance of about 1-2 blocks. Take your first left onto Old Belfast Rd. by the white fence. (see *CONTINUATION below)

FROM THE EAST: You are going to the western area of Sparks, just west of I-83; north of Cockeysville/Hunt Valley/ Jacksonville and south of Monkton/Hereford in N. Central Balto. County. You may want to follow the above directions from I-83 north or south. However, if you prefer to go by York Rd., go west on Belfast Rd. and go under the bridges of I-83. At about 3/10ths of a mile past the bridges, the road will curve to the left. Take the very first left you come to, Old Belfast Rd. by the white fence. (see *CONTINUATION below)

FROM THE WEST: You want to go to western Sparks in N. Central Baltimore County, just west of I-83 on Belfast Rd. From Butler Rd., go right or south on Falls Rd. for a short distance. At a rise, go left on Western Run Rd. Go the distance of about one block, over a one-lane bridge and take an immediate left at the Y onto Belfast Rd. Go for about 4 miles. You will pass Priceville Rd. on the right, a white fence and then, an immediate right onto Old Belfast Rd. (see *CONTINUATION below)

*CONTINUATION: Once on Old Belfast Rd., you are almost there. Take the 3rd driveway on the right. There is a garden there and you will see a white sign saying “The Dodson School of Art and the Sommer Gallery”. #717 is on the mailbox post unless the day lilies have grown up to hide the number. GO AROUND THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE HOUSE AND ENTER THE FIRST DOOR BY THE LOWER PARKING LOT. Please park facing away form the house PLEASE RING THE DOORBELL AND ENTER IF THE DOOR IS UNLOCKED.
